Ingredients

Strawberry Dole Whip base
  • 2 cup frozen strawberries Keep frozen for the creamiest texture.
  • 0.5 cup coconut cream Use vanilla ice cream if preferred; blend until smooth.
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar Or substitute honey to sweeten.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Adds brightness and balances sweetness.
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract For classic soft-serve flavor.
  • 0.25 tsp salt Use a pinch to round out the fruit flavor.

Equipment

  • 1 stand mixer

Method

Soften and blend
  1. Let frozen strawberries sit for 5 minutes to slightly soften, so they blend into a smooth, creamy swirl.
  2. Blend the strawberries, coconut cream, powdered sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt until completely smooth and creamy, using a blender soft serve texture as your visual cue.
  3. Taste and adjust sweetness by blending again briefly if needed, until the flavor matches your preference.
Pipe and serve
  1. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip and pipe into cups for the classic Dole Whip swirl, creating a bright pink spiral as you squeeze.
  2. Serve immediately because it will melt quickly; pipe and serve right away for the best creamy softness.

Notes

For the creamiest frozen strawberry soft serve, use very cold frozen strawberries and pipe as soon as the blend is smooth. Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container for up to 1 day (it will firm up and lose swirl texture), and freeze only if necessary—refreezing may make it less smooth. For a dairy-free swap, use coconut cream (as listed) and keep honey or powdered sugar to taste.
